As we prepare for move in day for the 2013-14 school year, our resident assistants (RAs) went through fire safety training with the Mankato Fire Department on August 23, 2013. This training teaches all of the RAs the basics of using an extinguisher and how to determine what is the best method for putting a small fire out.
According to Dean of Students Ted Manthe, the RAs go through extensive safety training every year.
“Our RAs complete ten days of general training, including safety training. The dorm safety component helps to prepare our RAs for real world situations,” said Manthe.
Safety of our students at Bethany Lutheran College is extremely important and exercises such as this joint venture with the Mankato Fire Department help our staff to be prepared and ready to act when needed.
