Nick, a 2002 Bethany graduate, is a full-time music director for the department of theatre and dance at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
WHAT YOU DO • • • I currently fill the full-time position of music director for the department of theatre and dance at Minnesota State University in Mankato. I coordinate all things music that happen within the department. This includes music direction for at least four productions per year, teaching voice lessons, conducting pit orchestras, arranging music, composing music, teaching music classes to actors and actresses, and providing vocal criticism to the musical theatre acting classes.
HOW BETHANY HAS PREPARED YOU • • • I got this position because I followed the advice of Professor Marzolf. I remember having coffee with him at his house where he told me to check out MSU. From there, things began to fall into place. I saw there was a need for people who enjoyed the type of music that I enjoyed and I started making contact with those sources. My music training at Bethany made it possible for me to transition smoothly into the masters program at MSU, which led to the position that I now hold.
