MANKATO, Minn. – Bethany Lutheran’s Nick Caldeen (Blaine, Minn.) joins the Thunder Bay Border Cats of the Northwoods League to conclude the 2017 schedule. Caldeen joins teammate Alex Babcock (Elk River, Minn.) who signed a contract a week ago with the Border Cats.

Caldeen – a 2016 First Team All-UMAC honoree saw limited action for the Vikings in 2017 due to a season-ending injury after 14 games played. The junior finished the season with 12 hits and 10 RBI’s in 45 at-bats as the Vikings catcher.

The Northwoods league is one of the nation’s premier summer collegiate baseball leagues. More than 160 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball.
