2016 Red Eye Audience

Red Eye Film Festival Screening Set

Bethany’s Media Arts Department presents the twelfth annual Red Eye Film Festival. Red Eye is a weeklong competition between student teams from Bethany Lutheran College, Minnesota State University, Mankato, and South Central College. These student teams create a polished and entertaining 3-5 minute short film. The week concludes with a public showcase of all the films.

The 2017 Red Eye Film Festival screening will be held on Monday, October 9 at 7 p.m. in Honsey Hall Room 129.

The Red Eye Film Festival was originally a Bethany event where production of films took place over two days. With the recent addition of Minnesota State and South Central three years ago, adjustments were made to accommodate more and larger teams.

Teams from the three institutions are randomly given different movie prompts to integrate into their films. Once the prompts are distributed, teams have one week to plan, write, film, and edit their short films before being presented the following Monday.

The screening is free and open to all with door prizes and giveaways throughout the event. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. start
