The Christ in Media Institute (CMI) is an educational arm of Bethany Lutheran College, and is led by Executive Director Dr. Tom Kuster (Bethany Professor Emeritus of Communication). CMI, through a Board of Directors, “promotes research and education focused on employing God’s gift of mass media to bring the pure Gospel message to vast audiences both in the US and abroad.”

CMI, through their website, is highlighting a new outreach project originating from Peace Lutheran Church, North Mankato, Minnesota, called Peace Devotions. Many of those responsible for the production and distribution of Peace Devotions are Bethany alumni, including Rev. Matt Moldstad (’07), who serves as one of the featured speakers.

Peace Devotions is distributed and viewed primarily through social media channels. Peace Devotions speaker, Pastor Tim Hartwig, (’01 Bethany Theological Seminary) noted, “One of our goals is to bring peace and comfort to an otherwise turbulent newsfeed.”
