What you do:
U.S. Bank, Mankato City Center Branch, Mankato, MN. Position: Credit Review Specialist 2
I started with U.S. Bank in an internship position the summer after my sophomore year at Bethany. Throughout college I worked part time and was offered a full time position upon graduation. As a
Credit Review Specialist, I am responsible for gathering and analyzing financial information for both current and potential commercial customers. I spend my day reviewing and analyzing financial statements, writing documents to obtain credit approval, and doing various other credit management tasks.
What inspires you:
I’ve always had a passion for working with number and being able to analyze data. My current field allows me to not only work with numbers, but also do research and write. There are so many opportunities in the banking industry and I look forward to where my path will take me.
How you want to make a difference:
I was recently married to Blake Lindstrom, whom I met at Bethany (May 2019 graduate), so I look forward to starting a family. I also am hoping to get my Masters of Business Administration which I plan to begin within the next two years.
How Bethany prepared you:
My internship opportunity was directly related to my experience at Bethany. A business professor first approached me about the internship and was able to help make that connection. All of the business professors, and professors in general, at Bethany are so willing to go above and beyond for the students. Being able to be involved in various activities, clubs and organizations helped prepare me for my career because I had already developed time management, organization, and problem solving skills.
What you remember most about Bethany:
I’ll never forget the life long friends I met at Bethany, including my fiancé. The ability to continue my golf career as well as be involved with other organizations such as Scholastic Leadership Society and Scholastic Leadership Institute taught me lessons and gave me memories I’ll cherish the rest of my life.
Advice for current students:
Get involved. The more new things you try, the more you’ll find out what you like or dislike which will help you find direction after you leave college. Don’t be afraid to ask for help because the people at Bethany are willing to help you in any way they can.
