Virtual Honors Recital released for Spring 2020

Each semester, students taking private lessons may audition to be a part of an honors recital. Chosen by the faculty, these students represent the best work being done in the private studios. Private lessons are available to any student at Bethany, regardless of major, and there are many majors represented among our performers.

This year is a little different. Current circumstances prevent meeting in Trinity Chapel to enjoy the music these talented performers make, but the faculty felt it was important to give these musicians an opportunity to perform.

In light of this, the faculty decided to host a Virtual Honors Recital. All of the performances you will see were submitted via video recording. Some performers had family members that could accompany them, some found pre-recorded accompaniments, and some just did without. The ingenuity, creativity and musicianship of these students is evident.

We would also like to take a moment to honor our two graduating seniors, Nathan Madson, organist, and Sarah Wei, pianist. Unfortunately, Nathan did not have access to an organ to perform in this recital, but you will have the opportunity to hear Sarah play. Both of these students have brought so much to our music program during their time at Bethany, and we wish them well and much success on their future endeavors.

Enjoy the 2020 Spring Virtual Honors Recital!
