Summary:
Bethany Lutheran College is seeking qualified applicants for their Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position with advising duties. This position is expected to deliver courses in an asynchronous online format and integrate technology in instruction. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student mentorship, scholarly and professional engagement, and campus citizenship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach core counseling courses (both didactic and clinical).
- Teaching load of 18 credits per year.
- Provide regular advising to students.
- Coordinate residency experience associated with COUN 630 or COUN 690.
- Maintain active membership and involvement with an appropriate counseling professional organization (i.e. ACA, ACES, AACC, etc.).
- Contribute to curriculum and program development.
- Participate in service to the college.
- Engage in professional/scholarly contributions.
- Pursue professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to program promotion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):
- Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from an accredited institution and preferably from a CACREP accredited doctoral program.
- ABD will also be considered, only if all degree requirements will be completed by July 31, 2022.
- Professional identity within the counseling profession through membership in professional organizations pertinent to counseling (e.g., ACA, ACES, and/or sub divisions and/or state equivalents).
- Experience in recruitment, promotion, and/or market development.
- Experience in the field of counseling and be licensed (or license eligible).
- Teaching experience in the field of counseling.
- Experience with residential and online teaching platforms and/or online teaching experience preferred (Moodle, Bongo, Zoom, etc.).
- Experience in CACREP accreditation is desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
