Bethany Major: Exercise Science
Graduate School: University of Mary doctorate program; physical therapy track with estimated graduation date in 2023.
What inspires you: After a long history of having physical therapy myself, I became very interested in it as a profession. Being able to help people accomplish goals through exercise and motion just seemed like a perfect fit for me.
How you want to make a difference: I want to become a physical therapist and be able to expand the scope of my abilities to help people.
How Bethany prepared you: The people, curriculum, and atmosphere of Bethany are great. The research and curriculum of my major specifically really set me up for success heading into graduate school. Being able to join a sports team helped with meeting new people who had a common goal and working together to achieve it.
What you remember most about Bethany: I remember being a part of the team that won the school’s first ever baseball Regular Season Championship and the first Conference Tournament Championship as well as everyone involved who helped to make that possible.
Advice for current students: Don’t be afraid to really set the bar high when it comes to your academic and athletic goals. There’s no better feeling than seeing something you once saw as impossible turn into reality. Graduate school wasn’t even on my radar when I started college, but through the support of the Bethany staff, it slowly became my ultimate academic goal to get into a Physical Therapy program.
