Patricia Lilienthal – Class of 2018 – History
Collections Coordinator, Exhibit Designer, and Administrative Assistant at the Freeborn County Historical Museum in Albert Lea, MN
What you do:
I never really have an average day at the museum. I bounce between updating and preserving our collections, designing and executing exhibits, working with the executive director on administrative tasks, and researching with our librarian. I mainly learn about Freeborn County history and we collaborate on ways to present what we have and know to the public.
What inspires you:
Stories inspire me. History to me has always been little pockets of stories. The best stories come from experiences and that is all of history. In my job, I get to combine those experiences of others with artistic expression to tell their stories and histories.
How you want to make a difference:
I hope to be helpful anywhere and everywhere I go.
How Bethany prepared you:
Bethany prepared me to think of others when completing tasks. The sense of family, cooperation, and kindness which I received at Bethany has helped me to act in the same manner here.
What you remember most about Bethany:
I have not been gone from Bethany for too long, so I remember a lot. What sticks out most, though, are the people: the professors and friends. I also remember Theatre and Choir more fondly than I can express.
Advice for current students:
Please be involved in something. The people are good and the experiences priceless.
