Ann Fredrickson

Prof. Ann K. Fredrickson is an Adjunct Faculty in the Music department and a Choraliers Director in the Music department and a Director - Handbells in the Music department and a Mary Martha Singers Director in the Music department and a Lessons Instructor in the Music department.

Ann Fredrickson has been teaching at Bethany for over two decades. Before she began her time at Bethany, Ann pursued a career in opera, performing for over 10 years with the Minnesota Opera, Opera101, North Star Opera, and Pocket Opera. Her time with Minnesota Opera included main stage roles and National and Regional tours. She was the recipient of the Eleanor Koehler Ellerbe Award from the Schubert Club, First Runner-up in the District Metropolitan Opera Competition, Winner of the Young Artist Award for the Minnesota Federation of Music Clubs, and winner of the Henry Holt and NATS competitions in California. Her oratorio credits include Messiah at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, and Ein Deutsches Requiem, Coronation Mass, Vesperae Solennes, and Madrigals by George Crumb. Ann graduated with a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she was the valedictorian of her class. Her undergraduate degree is from St. Olaf College where she was a National Merit Scholar. Her time at Bethany has included conducting the Mary Martha Singers and Handbell Choir, teaching private voice lessons, directing the Choraliers’ Musical Theater productions, developing an online Music Appreciation course, and teaching Music History, Opera, Vocal Pedagogy, Music Appreciation, and Music Fundamentals. She is a firm believer in individualized instruction and that personal relationships create the best learning environments. Ann lives in the Twin Cities with her husband Sam. The couple has three children.
