Bethany’s Handbell Choir rehearses one hour each week, and members are chosen by audition. In addition to its performances on and off campus, the Handbell Choir travels and performs with the Concert Choir during its annual choir tour. Mary Martha Singers

As its name implies, Mary Martha Singers is a four-part women’s chorus. The group, which consists of 20-30 members, performs regularly both separately and alongside the Concert Choir. The choir is open to all Bethany women by audition. Professor Ann Fredrickson leads the choir.

Choraliers

Bethany’s Choraliers (a music and theatre department collaboration) present a musical theatre production each February of a classic Broadway musical or operetta. Musicals by Gershwin, Gilbert and Sullivan, Lerner and Loewe, Porter, Rogers and Hammerstein and the like have been performed to sold-out crowds. Concert Choir

The Concert Choir is typically the largest of the choral groups with 50-70 students participating each year. In addition to an annual choir tour, the auditioned SATB group performs for Fall Festival, Reformation, Christmas at Bethany, Commencement, and beautifies chapel services regularly. The choir is open to all Bethany students by audition.

Music Tours

Choir Tour – May 2024 Each spring, after commencement, the Bethany Concert Choir, Mary Martha Singers, and Handbell Choir embark on a regional or national music tour for about 10 days.
