Academic Interests

My academic and research interests lie in the areas of organic chemistry and biochemistry. I am fascinated by how small organic molecules can have significant physiological effects and how small changes to those organic molecules can change their behavior. I am also interested in the chemistry that can be found in the visual arts. This interest has led me to develop a Chemistry of Art course that teaches basic chemical principles by using the visual arts.
